Leinster Transition Year Cup

Hi all

Please read ALL parts of the e-mail before opening the attachments!!

Entrants & Fixtures

There are 50 entrants for the Transition Year Cup this year, another record entry.

This means that there are 14 byes granted in the First Round, denoted in GREEN on the draw worksheet.

As always, if the home team pitch is unavailable, for whatever reason, then the match automatically switches to the away team’s venue. Please follow this at all times to ensure the smooth running of the competition.

There will also be a Transition Year Shield offered this season, to schools that are knocked out in the First & Second Rounds of the competition.

Finally, please remember that this is a Leinster-only competition – there are no National play-offs.

Competition Organiser

The voluntary competition organiser for this competition is Chris Pollis: 085-1354898: chris.pollis@faischools.ie

Please ensure that you keep in contact with Chris at all times regarding fixture arrangements etc.

Failure to keep in adequate contact with the voluntary organiser is not acceptable.

Mentor Contact Details

A PDF document with the mentor details (phone numbers & e-mail addresses) is attached. Please keep this document safe & all times & stored in accordance with GDPR.

Referee Allocations & Fees

As with previous seasons, allocation of referees to matches will be done by our referees allocators only. The full list of allocators is available here

When contacting the allocator, please give a) as much noticeas possible; b) your details – identify yourself & your school & c) as much detail as possible – date/time/venue/age group/opponent etc. – most allocators prefer contact by text/WhatsApp.

A new FAI/ISRS Referees Fee Agreement is in place from 2022-24 & referees fees are as follows: Transition Year €52 (€26 per school). Please note that these fees may be slightly higher if travelling distance is a factor.

Player Registration

FAInet is the system that we will again use for the purposes of player registration. FAI staff are currently in the process of setting up or reactivating usernames & passwords, so if you are new to the system, hold steady, as they will get you sorted over the next few days. If you require a password reset, please e-mail fainet@fai.ie & they will get you sorted.

Full details on player registration will follow in a separate e-mail – for now, please take a list of your players & their dates of birth & make sure everyone is eligible – maximum squad size is 30

The Draw & Attachments

The draw is available on the FAI Schools website, on the Leinster page by downloading the workbook below.

As always, if you have any questions that are not answered by the documentation attached, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
