Boys Post Primary
5 boys’ schools took part in the 2010 Clare Post Primary Schools boys’ futsal competition over two days at the impressive facilities of Ennistymon Recreation and Leisure Centre and the newly refurbished Shannon Leisure Centre.
Last Friday November 5 saw eventual winners Mary Immaculate Secondary School Lisdoonvarna emerge ahead of Ennistymon CBS, Ennistymon Vocational, and St Joseph’ s Spanish Point from the four team North Clare Schools blitz.
They then travelled to the Shannon Leisure Centre to face off against St. Patrick’s Comprehensive in the final, to see who would emerge victorious.
In a tight opening half both sides hit the target, to go in at half time level at 1-1, however in the second half a two goal burst from Lisdoonvarna, ensured that they would eventually win out 6-1 over a gallant Shannon side.
Mary Immaculate Secondary School Lisdoonvarna now goes on to represent Clare for the first time in the Munster Finals to be held at the Nenagh Arena on Thursday, 18 November.

GIRLS POST PRIMARY FINALS
3 schools and 4 teams from Clare took part in the Clare Girls Post Primary Schools futsal finals held on Friday November 5 and Thursday November 11 at Ennistymon Recreation and Leisure Centre and Shannon Leisure Centre respectively.
Last week saw the North Clare Schools blitz and Scoil Mhuire Inis Diomain enter two teams, alongside St. Joseph’s Spanish Point, the opening game between the two schools ended scoreless and Scoil Mhuire Inis Diomain’s A team defeated their B team 3 – 1. This result meant that the girls from St .Joseph’s Spanish Point progressed to meet St. Caiman’s Shannon and St. Patrick’s Shannon in the Clare Finals.
Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather conditions on final’s day St. Joseph’s Spanish Point were unable to attend, and this meant that it would be a straight shootout between the Shannon Schools for the title.
The traditionally strong St. Caimin’s proved too skilful for their opponents and they ran out easy winners on an 8–2 score line.
St. Caimin’s Community College now goes on to represent Clare for the first time in the Munster Finals at the Nenagh Arena on Wednesday November 17.
