The Primary Schools Futsal Blitz was held on Friday last, 4 December in Aughrim Street Sports Hall.
The event was a joint effort between FAI Community Development Officers Ian Hill & Christy Lougheed, representing the North West Inner City and North East Inner City areas.
Each school entered two teams into the competition with a total of 8 teams taking part.
The schools were representing St. Gabriel’s School, D7 Educate Together, Rutland Street and St. Joseph’s East Wall.
St Gabriel’s played D7 Educate Together in a closely contested Final, running out 3-1 winners.
The blitz was played in a very sporting manner with 150 pupils taking part either playing or supporting their school on the day.
Many thanks must go to all involved including teachers, pupils, referee Darren Proudfoot and Dublin City Council for the use of Aughrim Street Sports Hall.
Congratulations must go to St Gabriel’s School who proudly took the trophy back to their school on Cowper Street.
