The Clare Post Primary Schools Futsal Finals were held last Wednesday at Shannon Leisure Centre
St. Flannan’s College, Ennis had a fantastic campaign in both the boys and girls section capturing the double.
The SAINTS defeated a gallant Ennistymon CBS in the boys final while the girls put the icing on the cake when they overcame Spanish Point in their final.
The exciting nature of futsal was evident in the boy’s final, as St. Flannan’s raced into a 7-0 half time lead.
However the Ennistymon CBS side began to claw back the lead and got as close as 7 – 5 with two minutes remaining before Maurice Nugent sealed the title for the Ennis side with the final goal just as the noise of the final whistle was heard.
