Great reaction to Donegal 7s Primary Schools initiative

A number of the Donegal Primary 7s qualifiers, were held across the county on Wednesday and Thursday (November 9)

Gweedore Celtic's, An Screabán, hosted five local schools on Wednesday. Although conditions were wet, it didn't dampen their energy levels and there was plenty of talent on show.

Local FAI Development Officer, Shane Barr, oversaw the blitz and was impressed with what he saw on display. With over 90 children participating, it was a great day for all.

Scoil Chróine, Dungloe, progressed to the girls' county final and Scoil
Fhionáin, An Fál Carrach, topped a competitive boy’s blitz to qualify for the
finals.

Andrew Wilson, Finn Harps U15 GK Coach, co-ordinated activities in Drumbar
FC and Eany Celtic's grounds over the last two days. Again, Andrew, had high
praise for all schools involved. The games were played in a fair, competitive
manner with young leaders coming to the fore.

Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maistrí, Baile Dhún na nGall, topped the boys'
section. Holy Family NS, Ballyshannon, came out on top against Gaelscoil na
gCeithre Maistrí to qualify from the girls' section.

A milder day awaited Andrew in Eany Celtic's ground on Thursday morning. 4
schools, with a boys and girls' team competed to qualify from their section. SN
na Carraige, An Charraic, topped the boys' section and SN Niall Mór qualified
to participate at this year's county final in the girls' competition.

The organising Committee would like to thank the co-ordinators, match
officials and host venues for all their assistance in running the events.
