Patrician High School Carrickmacross & Moville Community College were crowned Ulster Champions on Tuesday, 16 November. Schools representing Donegal, Inishowen, Cavan and Monaghan took part as their respective County winners, with both boys and girls competitions being held.
The boys competition was a keenly contested event with the Monaghan school recording victories over Breifne College (Cavan) 3-1, St Eunan’s College (Letterkenny)1-0 and Scoil Mhuire (Buncrana) 1-0.
A great team effort by all involved with some fine individual displays on show; was much to the delight of manager Colm McEveaney.
The School will now go forward to represent Ulster at the All Ireland Finals to be held in Gormanstown on December 7th.
Inishowen winners Moville Community College claimed the girl’s title with wins over St Louis Girls (Monaghan) 6-2, Breifne College (Cavan) 5-0 and drawing with Loreto College (Letterkenny) 1-1 to win the competition from their Donegal rivals on goal difference who also had victories over their Monaghan and Cavan counterparts.
The girl’s event also proved to be a hugely entertaining and sporting affair with some fine individual displays also on show.
