The secondary Futsal competition is in its first year nationally after a successful pilot programme last year in South Leinster: It caters for 1st year students both boys and girls:
Each team have come through their county finals to get to the provincial stage and have received futsal resources and availed of excellent coaching sessions from their local FAI Regional Development Officers:
The competition is very highly regarded with each team wanting to take home the accolade of Provincial Futsal Champions and ultimately the All Ireland Futsal Champions crown:
Secondary:
The Secondary Schools Futsal Ulster Finals was scheduled to take place on Monday, 19th January from 10am – 3pm in the Phoenix Centre, Carrickmacross but this event was postponed due to adverse weather conditions preventing the Donegal school from travelling: The Final will be rescheduled next week:
The Final should prove an exciting encounter with only Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan battling it out for the prestigious title:
Donegal’s Finn Valley College in Stranorlar will represent the boys and girls sections:
Representing Cavan boys will be St: Mogue’s College, Belburbet while the girls will be represented by Breifne College in Cavan town:
Monaghan Collegiate School will be competing for the Monaghan boys with the girls represented by Inver College, Carrickmacross:
The Munster Finals will take place on Tuesday, 20th January from 10am – 3pm in the University of Limerick: The boys competition will see 5 counties represented while the girls sections will consist of 4 counties, each school will battle it out for the title of Munster Champions:
Kerry, Tipperary and Clare are competing in both girls and boys finals with Kerry represented by Killorglin Community College in both the girl and boy sections:
Tipperary are sending High School Clonmel for the boys while Presentation Thurles are competing for the girls:
St: Flannans College in Ennis (girls) and Ennistymon CBS (boys) will wear the Clare colours in the finals:
Waterford will be represented in the boys section by De La Salle and St: Augustine’s College in Dungarvan for the girls:
Presentation Brothers, Cork will represent the boys section in this competition:
The Leinster Finals take place on Wednesday, 21st January from 10am – 3pm in the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght with 15 schools competing for the Leinster title in the boys section and 13 schools in the girls competition:
Longford are represented by Moyne Community College for both the boys and girls competitions while Offaly are also sending the same school to represent both boys and girls, St: Brendan’s Birr: Portlaoise College will represent Laois in both categories also:
Meath are represented by Boyne Community School, Trim in the boys section and Eureka Kells in the girls (pictured above with Development Officers Mark Scanlon and Mick Neville):
Louth will be hoping that O Fiaich College, Dundalk will go far in the boys category while St Oliver’s School in Drogheda will compete in the girls section:
Dublin Oak Academy (boys) (pictured below) and Abbey Community College (girls) will represent Wicklow:
Wexford have four schools in the competition: Wexford CBS and Arklow CBS in the boys category and Colaiste an Atha and Colaiste Brid in the girls:
In Kildare, the boy’s qualifiers were won by St: Paul’s Secondary School, Monasterevin while Ard Scoil na Trionede will compete for the girls:
Kilkenny will be represented by Grennan College, Thomastown in the boys section (pictured below) and Loreto, Kilkenny City in the girls:
Further schools competing in the competition include St: Mary’s Academy CBS for Carlow, St: James Street (boys), Mercy Secondary School, Goldenbridge (girls) for Dublin South Inner City and Knocklyon Community College for Dublin South (boys):
Dublin/Fingal County Council will be represented by Castleknock College and Portmarnock Community School in the boys section while Loreto, Balbriggan and Riversdale Community College will participate in the girls section:
The Connacht Finals will take place on Thursday, 5th February from 10am – 3pm in Sligo IT: St Josephs College will represent the boys from Galway while Roscommon’s qualifiers have seen Summerhill College progress: Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo qualifiers have yet to be confirmed:
Those schools who win their provincial titles will travel to the All Ireland Futsal Final which will take place on Wednesday, 11th February from 10am – 3pm at the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght: Good luck to all the schools involved:

Ballinalee National School will represent Longford in both the boys and girls competitions while O’Growney National School in Athboy will compete for the Meath boys and St: Mary’s National School in Trim will compete in the girls section:
Wexford will be hoping St: Joseph’s Gorey will do well in the boys section and Scoil Naofa Padraig, Craanford in the girls:
Aravon Enniskerry and St: Malachy’s Dundalk will represent Wicklow and Louth respectively in the boys while Newtownmountkennedy and St: Joseph’s Dundalk will represent the girls:
