The Laois EA Sports Finals took place in Portlaoise AFC on Wednesday the 22nd of April with the winners from the heats sections held in Durrow Lions AFC and Portlaoise AFC.
A total of 43 teams took part in the Laois competition.
16 teams took part in the A Cup small schools boys cup with Convent of Mercy winning the competition after beating Faoalan Naofa N.S Ballyroan.
8 teams took part in the Girls A Cup with Gaelscoil Phortlaoise winning on penalties knocking out The Heath N.S.
14 teams took part in the Boys B Cup which Ballylynan N.S won after beating Gaelscoil Phortlaoise 2-0 in the final after a very exciting contest.
Scoil Bhride, Knockmay were the winners of the Girls B Cup as they were the only team to enter the competition.
The Boys C Cup which caters for large schools was a tight group with 4 teams involved. St. Paul’s Portlaoise won on penalties against St. Pauls B team which should contest the Mid Leinster Finals well.
All winners of the finals will represent Laois in the Mid Leinster Finals which will take place in Portlaoise on the 29th of April.
