The Post Primary Schools futsal competition is in its third year nationally after a successful pilot programme in 2009: The competition caters for first year students with both boys and girls categories catered for:

Scoil Cois Life and Loreto College, Swords will represent Dublin for the first time ever: These schools qualified in tough circumstances in their regional qualifiers: A number of Dublin schools missed out marginally on qualification as the contest was so close to call: This test is sure to keep their competitive edge as they compete next week:

Last year’s Leinster winners were KILDARE’s Confey Community School in Leixlip and Eureka Secondary School, Kells, MEATH are out of contention as they failed to qualify for this provincial stages: Questions will be asked of their competitors who ousted them at County level:::: Will they be in the running for provincial medals?

Meath’s St: Peter’s College based in Dunboyne will have dual representation as both boys and girls sections qualified: This is similar to Wicklow qualifiers Dublin Oak Academy in Kilcroney: Much to play for as both categories tries to compete for Provincial honours:

Portlaoise will have two schools participating namely St: Mary’s CBS for the boys and the successful Scoil Chriost Rí who will be enjoying their advancement from County status: The school is new to this level of competition so expectations will be somewhat balanced as they watch with anticipation on their counterparts advancement:

Westmeath’s Wilson Hospital School, Multyfarnham qualified two years ago and will be quietly confident of doing a good job at the next level up: Mentor Gavin Kieran’s will be on hand to support his young hopefully: Castlepollard Community College will see the girls section compete at this level for the first time in the Schools history: A wonderful achievement for the school competing for the first time ever at futsal

Louth’s Dundalk Grammar School and St: Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk make the cut while Kilkenny’s St: Kieran’s College and Grennan College, Thomastown will make a welcome return to the Provincial stage:

Richelle O’Neill will mentor Colaiste Choilm, Tullamore in the boys section in Offaly while newcomers Killina Presentation Secondary School will relish the challenge put in front of them:
